...I got my first check for my work as part of Kouji's new 'Sector Security' initiative.

I expect the class divide to widen and economic inequality to worsen.

Nothing we can do short of declaring Domino an independent nation.

It will probably worsen, but I think an eye towards city planning, future expansions, and programs explicitly to aid those in the lowest income brackets can blunt the worst of its impact. I realize that makes me a bit of an idealist.

Look, at the end of the day, even if Mrs. Tokei is a fucking dyed in the wool non-reactionary communist or hardcore socialist, policy regarding inequality comes from the national state.

I don't necessarily disagree with that assessment, though I would be careful expressing the sentiment as a... "be careful what you wish for", sort of superstition.

But that's me being overly cautious.

It's a learned instinct, in the work I've done. You get a sixth sense for it.

But I understand it comes off as paranoia to most folks.

Same line of business and you don't see me assuming the Illuminati are real.

The Illuminati aren't real because they are used as a scapegoat shorthand for the supernaturally disinclined to dismiss conspiracies out of hand.

...Which is to say the really weird stuff always comes with a hint of conspiracy behind it.
