Hey, uh, I know this is a little odd, but. I was going through some records for the Numbers Case and...

I'm not seeing a 'Number 96' anywhere.

Does someone know who it ended up with? If you do, let me know so I can know it's safe and sound.

I'm going to try and talk to Juudai next chance I get, and then slate up some investigation bits for the SpecInv crew that I'll forward to you and anyone else who was big on Number Hunting.

I talked with Mira, she wondered if we had caught 'The Most Dangerous Number' yet.

It appears to be currently moving about freely.

All I know is that it had contact with Shinoko at one point, which is how it got into the spirit foundation to talk to me. It tried to bargain with me to let it go free and in return it offered to help me in collecting the Numbers, but I denied it's request, so there must be some sort of bound on it that it wishes to be free from, despite the fact that it's moving about freely of it's own will anyway.
Unless someone else set it free somehow.

I've been keeping an eye out for it and the other missing numbers and the only lead I got was recently. Number 96 showed up in the dream of a first year student at the academy and I get the feeling it may, at some point, contact him again. I sent Hope away with him so he could protect himself if it does show up again.

I currently have the majority of the Numbers in custody. I have around 71 in total. Most of the others are still MIA, with a few in the hands of others that I trust.

That number is just about in line with the records we've got down here at SpecInv, thanks Juudai.

And... hm. So it's got some sort of binding it's trying to get out of, it's still on the loose, and appears to be messing with some of the Academy students. I'll talk to Shinoko a bit, too. She's doing consultant work down here at the station.

What can you tell me about how it behaved and looked like? Anything I could pick out of a crowd?

It was in disguise both times, so sadly I don't know what it truly looks like. It appeared to me in a cloak and mask. The academy student said it appeared to him as a "darker version of himself."

It's manipulative and seems to like getting it's own way. The student said he found him creepy, though in neither case did it harm us, but the potential, I believe, is there.
I did suspect that it may of possessed Shinoko at one point, since she had memory loss around the same night that Number 96 appeared to me.

Either way, I was told that it is known as "the most evil numbers", so I want to try and get it as soon as we possibly can.

I think Number 96 was looking to remain free and didn't want to be put back, so it may or may not be that he's shackled by something... though you have to wonder why he came to ASK me to free him, if he was already 100% free.

Yeah, I was informed about it being "the most dangerous" too, which is why I'm worried now. Though a darker version of yourself.... hm.

Possessing Shinoko... ugh, now that has me worried. But a manipulative Number still on the loose bodes nothing good.

I'd bet money that being the most evil and dangerous of the Numbers comes with special restrictions, that it's bound to. Kind of like how was that seal on Cosmo Queen for a very good reason.

Well, restricted or not, it's still moving about very freely and in a way where tracking it is difficult, if not even impossible, to do, especially since we have no real idea what it actually looks like.

Right now my only lead is the academy student, as it was implied that their paths may cross again.

Yeah, very true, though it could be doing so because it's not able to wreck havoc like it wants to. You mentioned it didn't hurt you, right? Maybe something about its binds keeps it from going full nutso destructive like the other Numbers.

I'll talk to Shinoko about it next chance I get, see if she has anything she could add. But yeah, SpecInv's running blind now, too.

I'll try to see if I can't dig up any other leads when I'm not working on the other two cases I've been swamped by. You'll let me know if anything develops on your front with the academy student, right Juudai?
