...They can't, no. Seiya's obviously an android herself, so we had a few... back-and-forths about the level of intelligence they should have. At best, their dueling systems are rudimentary and the flags to trigger suspicion of illegal supernatural activity are about as good as we can get them, but still obviously nowhere near sentience. In those trickier kinds of situations, they merely act as a stopgap that we can coordinate until a Special Investigation member can arrive on the scene and to undertake solely defensive actions - protect any parties from injury.

Seiya and I worked day and night on the new software they run on, which includes their new self-security suites. The only way we can even interface with them remotely is a terminal in the department that's isolated from any other network, internal or external. The only way to pull a mass-hijack like we saw with the Riding Roids at the WRGP would be someone physically infiltrating SpecInv, and with the way that individual units report in and defer to the terminal, seeing one individual hijacked will be easy to spot.
