I'm back in town. Not for... very long, I've got a lot of work to do, but I can stop by and make the rounds before I do anything too nuts.
Van Der Aart, we should talk. I've got some info that collaborates with our... excursion.
Niyo - we may need to get back in touch with Mobius, ASAP.
[Event]
[So you may be at the SpecInv Offices. Where some shit is going down.
And by 'some shit', Onni has a massive spear laid out on a worktable, humminh and hawing over it, taking notes, and overall just being very concerned.]

Re: [Event]
... I've heard that the rest of him is here. *cutting to the chase, huh.*
Re: [Event]
[...Huh, alright. He nods.] I... prepared the rest of him as best I knew. Hopefully it's... respectful. Better than an evidence bag, at any rate.
[He moves back over to his desk - lifting up a spear that's taking up most of the space on the table, and neatly leaning it against the side, before pulling out what appears to be a... quite nice box. Not extravagantly decorated, but... nice.]
...This should be the rest of Scythe, barring the piece Failnaught recovered from Grant.
Re: [Event]
... Thank you. It wasn't necessary for you to do this, but-- I do appreciate it. I'm sure Failnaught will appreciate it too, that you went through the effort to try to give respect to Scythe.
Re: [Event]
...I'm one with the Gigantech Fighter, for better or worse. When I went to recover the Ame-no-Nukoko... just trying to maintain Gigantech's Armor was a challenge, I could feel the weight of the bloodshed and the dead pressing down on me.
...I suppose what I'm saying is, this my way of apology. I... was so pre-occupied with my side of things that I had given little sympathy to how you and the other Barians are trying to deal with it.
Re: [Event]
No, it's fine. None of us... None of us expect sympathy for anything, and we're not exactly searching for it, either. All we want is a way to help our world. A way to survive, at this point.
... The Ame-no-Nukoko, though... Is that what the Bujin were developing?
Re: [Event]
[He turns to the spear.]
As far as I can tell, yes. The Heavenly Jeweled Spear - in Japan's own mythology, it stirred the seas and raised the land from them - and I suspect it was meant to do something similar for you.
But, as I'm sure you might be able to tell, it's unfinished - whatever jewels they were planning to use to give it its mythical power - the Bujin fell before they were given then chance to finish it.
Re: [Event]
Yes... I don't know what exactly the Bujin might've planned on using for them... I'm very sorry to say, but my memory isn't very clear about it. The one who has 100% retention of memory is basically... Just Failnaught.
Re: [Event]
Which brings me back to the point I made to him as well - the only person who may likely know for certain that's still alive... is Bujinki Amaterasu.
Re: [Event]
Re: [Event]
But- if you'll permit me backing up, a bit, you said your memory wasn't entirely clear? Do you mind... explaining that?
Re: [Event]
You're aware that Scythe's body, essentially... Was his weapon, correct?
Re: [Event]
Why?
Re: [Event]
Sometimes, though... We "die". Our manifestations are injured, and our weapons are damaged. Sometimes, they're so damaged, that we need to be repaired. That's Failnaught's purpose. He repairs us, and he's the only one left who is capable of doing it.
But... thanks to the process, and our diminishing materials, sometimes, our memories are incomplete. We can end up acting as entirely different people, as result. You might say we're reborn.
Not that it can happen anymore, though.
Re: [Event]
...Except now without a home, and without materials, if any of you drop - it's gone for good, like Scythe.
Re: [Event]
Yes. You can understand just... What kind of position we're in, now.
Between the attacks by the demons, previous attempts at helping our world, retaliations due to the Astrals, and general degrading that's happening to our world and us, due to the chaotic space... our numbers have been vastly decimated.
[Event]
[He looks at the spear.]
...I wonder...
Re: [Event]
*she shakes her head, leaving that hanging.*
... What are your thoughts, exactly?
[Event]
It's in the Ettosyleit, then?
Re: [Event]
The chaotic space that is "Ettosyleit" is natural to us, and allows us to act at our full strength... but it's also quickly causing the demise of our world, and for us to wear away, thanks to the chaos, and the demons themselves.
Why do you ask?
Re: [Event]
I plan to enter the Ettosyleit. To see for myself exactly what it's like there... and to test the spear's abilities without the jewels that would power it.
...And perhaps, if I'm lucky, to find Amaterasu.
I do not make any false opinions that the mission is incredibly dangerous, but - I always learn more about what needs to be done when I get into it, myself.
Re: [Event]
... Yes, I definitely think that's risky of you.
I don't know how the chaotic space might affect humans-- or really, anything other than Barians, or the demons.
I absolutely can't assure you that you'll leave that space intact.
Re: [Event]
It's the only way to really know what we're dealing with here.
I don't back down very often - and I've had my fair share of close calls.
But... if fixing the spear can lead to us not having to fight over the Legendary Numbers, then I'm going to do everything I can to accomplish that.
That way, no one has to suffer any more than they already have.
Re: [Event]
The chaotic space is something you don't simply enter and leave, without being deeply connected to it. You might not even enter into a space that's inhabitable.
... If that happens, I really can't guarantee you'll receive any help.
Re: [Event]
But I have to try. Both for you... and for Amaterasu.
...As foolish as it might be, I think there's more than just a sliver of Hirume in her, who's been trying to talk about this all this time.
I just... wanted to let you know that I wasn't going to sit idle here.
Re: [Event]
I can't make demands of what you do or don't do. If this is what you've decided on, then I won't stop you.
But make sure you have an idea of how to leave before you try this. A failsafe.
