[A TV is on in a hospital room, a newsfeed reporting as the news scrolls on by.
"Construction crews continue to cooperate with the Domino Police and Fire Department in clearing and investigating the destruction of the Domino Police Special Investigations building. The building was attacked by a terrorist attempting to work against the Special Investigations Department. Chief of Investigations Haita Onni is reported to be in critical but stable condition after a 17-hour surgery to reconstruct his chest cavity after an attack. Currently Acting Chief Investigator Mikata Niyo declined to comment..."]
Nngh.
[He's restrained in bed. Barely conscious. Hooked up to a couple vital-monitoring machines and a whole lot of painkillers. Off to a table is the two things recovered with him, his duel disk - practically snapped in two from the force of the explosion, and a deck of cards, slightly burnt at the edges.]
[But he is alive. And the hospital is letting friends, family, and associates come see him, today. Though, with how he seems to be fading in and out of consciousness, you may need some effort to keep him awake.]
