...As far as he knows, I'm a bought cop, Niyo's ex-yakuza, and Akuma's a Yakuza princess giving him music lessons until his parents show up.

... Sounds like an reasonable explanation. She does remind me of Yakuza. Hell I think her novels are fairly popular with the Yakuza crowd as something to read while waiting.

Sort of. The words became like, actually physical, and then they made stuff real.

It was honestly something I've never seen before.

Kid had powers I've never seen before, said he could just up and do it one day... after some weird dream where he got stabbed in the neck with an arrow and some dude talked to him about equivalency or evolution, kid wasn't sure exactly.

He turned Niyo into a secretary and Akuma almost became a bimbo again.

I guess I can tell you that they're sort of like.. spirits of the person themselves.

Like the true form of the Ka. They're probably being awoken in people with something.. probably something with an edge.

An arrow would work, yeah.

Check the hospital. You'll find a bunch of people who have bad fevers and aren't getting any better. They probably got shot with it but didn't have the spiritual strength to form a spirit.
