Sorry for the delays on this. I have quite a few projects cooking at the same time.

The fugitive known as Bohr has been turned over to Black Velvet for... 'corrective custody', barring further information. Interrogation of Bohr didn't lead to much, beyond what was already suspected.

Bohr did not grant Echo the power to 'turn' others into Illusion Witches, this appears to be a development all on their own.

Attempts to coerce further information were met with either staunch resistance that I wouldn't 'get it', or subject being easily distracted due to long-term effects of over-conditioning.

On a personal note, I'm going to stuff my cousin in a locker. Or give her a swirlie. I'm not sure which yet.

[For Sector Security, OOPARTS, and Related Parties]

For the record, Hibiki, nee Echo the Apocalypse, was already under mental pressures that could be exploited. Said testimony is collaborative with Twelve Peers Document #0451, "The State Of The World At Present", Vanguard-level Clearance.

I did get a broad-strokes idea of how to... 'rebuild' someone who has been affected by the destruction of identity through emotional manipulation. However, some of said information is unreliable due to Bohr's existent nature as a sociopath.

Aradia, who has been missing for 8 months now, is almost certainly confirmed as acting in tandem with Echo. Consider capture a fairly top priority.

At the moment, this means I've exhausted the majority of my leads. I will work on trying to reverse engineer some of Bohr's thinking as someone who has gone up against them before, but I can make no promises of the timeframe.

Good news, no one was severely hurt, we all made it back safe and sound.

So. I'm noticing some weird stuff happening lately. Since last Halloween, really.

I don't think a single clock in the house has drifted since then.

All of my OOPARTS paperwork has been almost comically easy to file and run into no problems.

My taxes basically organized themselves.

Also my toolbox was properly sorted and I don't think anyone has touched it but me, and I definitely didn't sort it.

I can't say I dislike it, but man, it's weird.

The office has seen... well, worse days and better - papers are scattered everywhere, there's the distinct smell of burnt coffee from the machine on the desk, and one wall has been converted into a digital whiteboard, linking digital copies of reports and rumors and news articles - at least one television recording playing over and over in a video file.

However, he's not looking at any of that, right now.

What he is looking at is a report. One about a recent incident and another of a witness report being taken by by one Suguru.

The bags under his eyes suggest that these are more than... a bit emotionally trying, for what's likely obvious reasons.]

[So, Labrys, you've agreed to turn to the on-again off-again mad scientist cousin of Wakahisa for help, letting him effectively try and study you to get an idea of how Barians are to be repaired, so that the two of you can theoretically help Failnaught.

The OOPARTS building on the mainland isn't hard to find, and when you arrive, there is a bubbly cheerful receptionist who gives you a guide to elevators that take you to Sub-Level 2: Research and Development.

When you get there, you'll see one wing closed off temporarily, next to an office that reads "RESEARCH DIRECTOR: J. GRAVE", and another wing that branches off, with signs reading "EXPERIMENTAL TEST LAB - CLEARANCE BY DIRECTOR HAITA REQUIRED BEYOND THIS POINT".

Of course, passing that, you reach a state-of-the-art lab that has a juxtaposition of very clean and elegantly-crafted machines, as well as some machines that look like they are deliberately more form than function, built together in a makeshift workshop. The two different types of machines seem to interface with each other without any trouble, as the reddish-brown hair peeks out from behind an oversized terminal.]

Sorry for going dark last night, but an emergency popped up. For those of you wondering: yes, I'm fine. Got a little scratched up but nothing a couple nights of bedrest won't cure.

To keep a gruelingly long story short, the rogue element known as K-1 Numeris Genitor, also known as the 'Machine King', who we'd been aware had been making moves for a while now, attacked Barian Island. His target was Hirume, formerly known as Bujinki Amaterasu, and her spear, the Ame-no-Nuhoko, also known as the World Lance.

After a tense exchange, the situation has been resolved. Or at least the physical nature of the matter has been resolved. I'm still.. working on the paperwork and incident report that I'm sure other interested parties will need to look over.

Regardless, Machine King shouldn't be troubling anyone anymore, thankfully.

[Onni can be found in one of two locations, bandaged up but walking under his own power:

1) the Barian Island, inspecting any damage done in the ensuing fight. He's still giving any machines that might be present a decent berth, but they seem docile enough, now.

2) the OOPARTS Building, having managed to return to his office, most likely filing paperwork in his office, with the door open for anyone to visit.]

Hello, new students to Duel Academy! I hope you're finding your start of the school year well. Let me introduce myself.

I am Haita Onni, Director of the Organization for Observing Paranormal Activity via Reverse-Engineering, Takedown, and Study. OOPARTS, for short. I was a member of Duel Academy just like you all are, except that there was way less literature on the supernatural when I was in school.

Which is why I'm making this introduction, in fact. Please, for both your sake and your supervisors, I would like to remind you that if you come across an event you suspect is supernatural - do not engage with it under any circumstances. A lot of things can happen to someone caught up in something like that if they aren't prepared for it. If you believe it is urgent, please contact your supervisors immediately - they know to keep in touch with us here at OOPARTS if it's particularly serious.

Even with that warning, I know there will be some... enterprising students who wish to take matters into their own hands. I can't say I blame you - I was similar, but at the very least, I would encourage students who wish to know more about supernatural phenomena and the best practices for dealing with them in an emergency should visit the OOPARTS building in Domino proper - our facility has a lot of literature you can take advantage of, and if you want to talk to me directly, my office hours are usually open these days.

I'm sure all this talk about about the new Duel Links system is exciting for a lot of people but I can't help but wonder how all this stuff about the VR tech is going to make my job a nightmare. Not like OOPARTS doesn't have enough stuff to worry about...

That said, we're always hiring. We have reasonable hours, a well-stocked R&D division, and low overhead. Inquire with me or Niyo if you're interested. We've seen a pretty reasonable growth in non-action roles in the past few months.

Speaking of, though, with the resurgence of D-Wheels I've finished refitting the garage - if you've got your own D-Wheels, stock 'em there. If you don't have one, there's some old SpecInv models I've finished refitting and tuning up. If you need someone to look at your stuff, let me know, I learned from Shiyoko and she's the best in the biz, so I know what I'm doing with these machines.

Sorry for the radio silence, everyone. I've been pretty busy 'tween the kid and running OOPARTS as an actual business, these days. Top-level restructuring, business meetings, budget plans, etc etc.

Swear it feels like I've been stuck in boardrooms for months, at this point.

Also, got my hair cut back the way I like it. It's still that ridiculous shade of red, but I can kinda work with that. Kinda like it, actually.

Not gonna comment on the stuff that's been going on because it'd be a lil' bit redundant.

Sorry about the radio silence, everyone. As you might have surmised from Shiroko's post, We've been... kinda busy!

But everything's alright. Shiroko's resting and recuperating with lil' Ichirou, and I'm reminded of how lucky I am to have them - both of them, now - in my life.

I'm not gonna lie and say I wasn't... y'know, a bit worried, but. I think I'm okay now!
